Phoenix, AZ to Los Angeles CA

--Divider--

Yes, I'm back in town, though I'm leaving in just a few days for a long weekend in Montreal with my folks. My Dad's barbershop singing convention is there this year. It's been just a little over 7 weeks since I left. A FULL 7 weeks! It seems like more because I've done so much during that time.

Along the way, I've been busy, busy, busy. Going from one adventure to another. As I said, I stopped when I wanted to stop, and I went when I wanted to go. I had to make decisions along the way about what I really wanted to do, and what would wait for the next go 'round. There's more to do and see than one could possibly accomplish in a whole lifetime! I appreciate all of your suggestions, and I've made mental notes of things to do and see in the future.

I've said before that traveling is like life times ten. You're out of the comfort zone, and constantly have to make decisions about where to eat, sleep, and oh yeah, how may times have I asked: "Where's your rest room?" You're constantly reading maps, looking for signs, and occasionally getting lost. Some days you're frustrated, exasperated, and helpless. Other days (sometimes within the same day) you're ecstatic, awed, or inspired. After being hot, sticky and withered you appreciate the pleasures of air conditioning, a shower, a cool drink and a filling meal so much more.
I know it sounds strange, but this week is the first time that it's really beginning to hit me that I don't have to go to work on Monday. This trip just seemed like a long vacation. Yeah, I sat on the beach for a few days in Key West, but now I don't have an itinerary, at least one not guided by geography. I still have a long list of projects I want to do, unvisited places still to visit, old hobbies and pleasures I want to rediscover. My God, where do I start?

One of the best things about my trip was that I could share it with you guys. Thank you for all of your email, too. Isn't modern technology wonderful? I could also keep up with what's going on back at the ranch.

Hope you've enjoyed the ride. I know I have. And you know what?... The adventure continues. This weekend Montreal! Stay tuned...
